I scored!

Against the Jets we had five fumbles as a team, but only lost one. The only thing I can say about that is I guess the ball just bounced our way that game. We were able to fall on it most of the time. I think there’s a lot to be said about the guys hustling on every play, following every play and not just watching it. Two of the fumbles were recovered by offensive linemen. Dave Baas had one, and then I had one…for the TOUCHDOWN.

I’m a lowly second year tackle so I didn’t approach Brett Favre after the game because he’s a legend. I think it was pretty cool though that my very good friend Shaun Hill had better statistics.

I had one of my best friends who I grew up with in town visiting, and then one of my friends lives in San Francisco had a buddy in town from Austin, who I went to high school with so we all went back to my house after the game and got some Chipotle to eat. We just hung out and watched the end of the Baltimore Ravens/Washington Redskins game. After that, we watched the highlights from the other NFL games. I went to bed pretty early, because I was tired from the long week. At this point of the season, your body is hurting, so you have to listen to what it tells you.

This Thursday I have something coming up to note.  A TV show, I’m not sure which station, I think it’s on Comcast Sports Bay Area, asked me to do a day in the life of me. So they’re following me around on Thursday. We’re going to a San Jose Sharks game and I think they’re coming over earlier to film some other stuff as well.  It should be fun and I’m looking forward to that.

Even though I’m from Michigan, I have to say I’ve become a Sharks fan. I wasn’t really a big hockey fan growing up, so I never liked the Detroit Red Wings that much, but since being out here, I’ve gotten to go to a few games and I enjoy it.  I guess we’re supposed to meet some of the guys as part of the filming, so that should be pretty fun.

A lot of my family is going to be down in Miami for our game this weekend, and I’m excited about that as well. We’ve won two consecutive games against the AFC East, so we definitely want to make it three in a row.

  • Great job finding the ball on the ground for the score. Its always fun to see the lineman get a chance to celebrate a TD. Your right that it was cool for Hill to have better numbers than a legend. Favre has killed us in the past in a different shade of green. CHIPOTLE! Hmmm. That is a tasty and fat burrito. Good choice after a long day of work. Make sure you post a link to the TV show for us fans down here in the LA area. Good luck in Miami! Let's make it 3 in a row.

  • Congrats again Mr. Staley. Also glad to hear you are staring to like the black and teal. The Sharks are awesome. I went down with a good buddy of mine back when the team played at Arizona to see MNF. Lucky for us, the Sharks were playing at the Coyotes on Sunday night. Both teams lost, but we had a good time! The line is looking a lot better. The faithful hope that Frank Gore isn't hurt too bad. He is really close to hitting 1,000 yards and could break the 49ers record for consecutive 1k+ yard seasons. Good luck in Miami.
